Abstract Paintings
I've always been interested in non-designed spaces and maps of those spaces. Cities not created by comprehensive plans but grown organically, with multiple centers growing simultaneously.
For my work, I start with a location or multiple locations and I sketch their plans one on top of another. I often alter the scales and use multiple scales in the same painting.
I then build layer after layer of shapes colors and textures and weave them together. The idea is to create a finished piece that doesn't look designed or planned but somehow looks complete.
