In architecture we represent the 3d world in 2d drawings. Through plans, sections and elevations we show how structures are constructed.  But we don’t inhabit the structure, we inhabit the spaces those structures create.  When those structures become transparent, through the use of glass or screen, the separation between space and structure fades and the two become one.  But this transparency has other qualities.  It distorts, obscures and reflects.  Staring at these semi translucent, semi reflective structures we see forms and textures emerge forming compositions reminiscent of abstract art.  I try to capture the feeling of disorientation, the “uncanny valley” between what we see and what is there.
